Strip brushes are formally called metal channel strip brushes after their construction. A strip brush consists of natural, synthetic or metal bristles, held securely in place by a U-shaped metal channel and center wire. All strip brushes are manufactured straight, and can be transformed into other shapes such as disks, ovals, cups or cylinders. There are many choices of brush fillings and virtually an infinite number of brush specifications within each metal channel size. For this reason, we ask that you complete the Strip Brush Design Sheet that follows and fax it back to Gordon Brush. The completed sheet will let us know what your individual requirements are so that we can make a brush to fit your needs. This includes the proper bristle material, and allows for the length, trim and overall design to fit your application. For any other specific brushes you may need, further scan this Web site or call us at 1-800-933-0933 or 1-323-724-7777. If you know you need a custom brush, complete the Strip Brush Custom Design Sheet that follows and fax it back to us. Gordon Brush will get back to you within 24 hours with a quotation. |

| Strip Brush Size is defined by the Channel size, the length of the brush and the trim length of the bristle material. The length of the brush can run from 1" spine (25mm) to as long as can be shipped (literally). Channel size refers to the metal channel that holds the bristle material in place. Sizes range from #2.5 (1/8" wide (3.175mm) and 1/8" high (3.175mm)) to #10 (7/16" wide (11mm) and 7/16" high (11mm)). The trim length of the brush can vary from 7/16" (11mm) long to 8" (203mm). | ||||||||||||||
| The fill material used in the brush can come from natural, synthetic or metal sources. The use of the brush will determine the types of fill material and base wire to be used. For example, natural bristle is used where static is a problem or liquids are involved. Synthetic materials are often used for general purpose applications. Static Dissipative synthetic materials are also available. Metal materials are used for heavy duty cleaning and cleaning other metal surfaces. | ||||||||||||||

To stiffen a brush, shorten the trim length or use a larger diameter bristle. To lengthen the life of a brush, use the softest fill material appropriate for the job.
